# Files on Mobile

> Upload photos and documents from your phone, choose which files your Digital Twin uses, and manage your Files in the Praxis AI mobile app.

## Introduction

**Files** is the app's view of your [IP Vault](https://docs.praxis-ai.com/mdx/user-guide/files-documents/ipvault.md): the documents and images your Digital Twin can read. Files that are **included** are used to answer your questions.

To open it, tap **+** in the message bar, then **Files**. The **Files** item shows a badge with how many files are included.

***

## What you see

The header shows **Files** and how many are included, with **Edit**, a **search** icon and **Done**.

### Tabs

| Tab | Holds | Who sees it |
| - | - | - |
| **Personal** | Your own files | Everyone |
| **Instance** | The Digital Twin's shared files | People whose role lets them list the twin's files |
| **Account** | Files shared across the account's Digital Twins | Same as **Instance** |

Each tab shows how many files it holds. Collections appear as folders: tap one to open it, and the back arrow to leave it.

### File cards

Each file has a card with a check mark when it is **included**, and a status:

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Processing** | Pria is still reading the file. The list refreshes on its own. |
| **Ready** | The file can be used in answers |
| **Couldn't extract** | Pria couldn't read text from this file |

Tap a card to see its preview, **Name**, **Type** and **Summary**, then **Open file** to view the whole file.

Use the **search** icon (**Search files...**) to find a file by name.

***

## Upload a file

Tap the round **+** button on the Files screen and choose a source:

* **Take Photo**: use the camera
* **Photo Library**: pick one or more photos
* **Browse Files**: pick documents stored on your phone

New files go to your **Personal** files and are included straight away. iPhone photos (HEIC) are turned into `.jpg` files on the way, so that Pria can read them.

> [!TIP]
>
> You can also add a photo or file from the message bar with **+ → Camera** or **+ → Add Photos & Files**. That attaches it to the conversation you're in. See [Add photos, files and assistants](https://docs.praxis-ai.com/mdx/user-guide/mobile/chat.md#add-photos-files-and-assistants).

***

## Include, exclude or delete files

**1. Tap Edit**

The cards become selectable.

**2. Select files**

Tap each file you want to change.

**3. Choose an action**

* **Include**: your Digital Twin uses these files in its answers.
* **Exclude**: it stops using them. The files stay in your vault.
* **Delete**: removes them for good, after you confirm. This can't be undone.

Tap **Cancel** to leave edit mode without changing anything.
