# Getting Around the Mobile App

> A tour of the Praxis AI mobile app: the chat screen, the side drawer with your Digital Twins and conversations, search, your account, and what the app does differently from the web.

## Introduction

The **Praxis AI** app opens straight onto a conversation with your Digital Twin. There is no tab bar: everything starts from the chat screen, its side drawer and the menu behind the **+** button in the message bar.

New here? [Install the app](https://docs.praxis-ai.com/mdx/user-guide/mobile/install.md) and sign in first.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The app works in portrait. It runs on iPad and Android tablets with the same phone layout.

## The chat screen

The header at the top of the chat screen has three controls:

| Control | What it does |
| - | - |
| **☰ menu** (left) | Opens the side drawer with your Digital Twins and conversations. You can also swipe right from the left edge of the screen. |
| **Twin picture and title** (centre) | Shows the conversation's name, or the assistant or Digital Twin you're talking to. Tap it to open **Switch Assistant**. |
| **Your initials** (right) | Opens your account: credits, profile, password, appearance and **Sign Out**. See [Settings, Account & Support](https://docs.praxis-ai.com/mdx/user-guide/mobile/settings.md#your-account). |

At the bottom, the message bar holds the **+** menu (**Assistants**, **Files**, **Camera**, **Add Photos & Files**), the text field and the send, stop or voice button. See [Chat on Mobile](https://docs.praxis-ai.com/mdx/user-guide/mobile/chat.md).

Each time you open the app, it starts on a new chat. The Digital Twin greets you, or shows **Ask (twin name) anything to get started**.

## The side drawer

The drawer has two parts.

**1. The rail: your Digital Twins**

The narrow left rail lists every Digital Twin you belong to, with your personal space as **Personal**. Favourites come first, then the current twin, then the others by name.

* Tap a twin to switch to it. Its conversations, assistants and files load, and any voice conversation ends.
* Tap the **star** to add a twin to your favourites, or remove it.
* A **shield** badge marks the twins you administer; a **✓** marks the current one.
* The **search** icon and the **gear** (Settings) sit at the bottom of the rail.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Some Digital Twins don't allow switching away from them in the app. The other twins are then dimmed, and tapping one shows **Digital Twin Locked**.

**2. The panel: your conversations**

The wider panel lists the current twin's conversations, newest first, each with the assistant it used. Tap **+** for a new chat, tap a conversation to open it, long-press it to **Rename** or **Delete** it, or swipe it left to delete it. See [Conversations](https://docs.praxis-ai.com/mdx/user-guide/mobile/chat.md#conversations).

### Search across your Digital Twins

Tap the **search** icon in the rail to open **Search All DTs**. Type at least two characters in **Search conversations**: the results list matching Digital Twins and matching conversations from every Digital Twin you can access, with a count of the matches. Tap a twin to switch to it and see its latest conversations, or tap a conversation to open it.

## Before your first AI request

The first time you send a message, launch an assistant, upload a file or start a voice conversation, the app asks **Choose whether to use AI features**. It lists the information that may be sent (your prompts, files, images, voice and limited session details, and your location if you share it) and the AI providers that may process it, depending on your organisation's settings.

* **Agree and enable AI** turns AI features on, and the app remembers your choice.
* **Not now** sends nothing. AI features stay paused until you agree.

You can withdraw your consent later under **Settings → Conversation Preferences → AI processing**. See [Conversation Preferences](https://docs.praxis-ai.com/mdx/user-guide/mobile/settings.md#conversation-preferences).

## What's different from the web

The app covers everyday use: chatting, assistants, files, voice and your account. Some things are still done on the web at [pria.praxislxp.com](https://pria.praxislxp.com):

| On the web only | What to do |
| - | - |
| **Forgot Password?** | Reset your password from the web sign-in page, then sign in to the app with the new one. |
| Creating or editing assistants, and favourite assistants | The app runs assistants; build them on the web. |
| Liking, disliking, saving or regenerating a response, and read-aloud | Use the web app. |
| Most Digital Twin settings | The app's [admin tools](https://docs.praxis-ai.com/mdx/user-guide/mobile/admin.md) cover the twin's name, contact email, model, credits and users. |
| Push notifications | Not available yet. The **Notifications** screen lets you set your preferences now for an upcoming update. |
