Introduction

This guide walks Blackboard Learn administrators through adding the Praxis LXP as an LTI 1.3 Advantage tool, and shows instructors how to place LXP content in a course.
Installing Pria, the Digital Twin, rather than the LXP? It is a separate tool with its own Client ID: see Pria in Blackboard Learn.
Blackboard registers LTI 1.3 tools centrally. Praxis AI has registered the LXP with Anthology once, and that registration has a Client ID. You paste the Client ID into Blackboard, and Blackboard fills in everything else: the LXP’s addresses, keys and course placements. You never type the LXP’s URLs into Blackboard.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:
  • Blackboard Learn administrator access (the Admin page)
  • The LXP’s Client ID (above)
  • Your organisation’s LXP credentials and role ID, for the product you’re registering. Request them from the Praxis AI team at humans@praxis-ai.com.
  • Network requirements met (whitelisted domains, third-party cookies)

Register the LXP

1

Open LTI Tool Providers

In Blackboard, open Admin. Under Integrations, select LTI Tool Providers.

2

Register the LXP with its Client ID

Select Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool, paste the LXP’s Client ID, 7ed260b0-2318-4f97-9406-c8e7dc8ac25d, into the Client ID box, and select Submit.
Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool page with an empty Client ID field and Submit button

3

Check the LXP's details and approve it

Blackboard opens Accept LTI 1.3 Tool and shows the LXP’s registration as read-only fields: the name Praxislxp LTI learning, the domain lti.praxislxp.com, and addresses on https://lti.praxislxp.com. It also shows the Default Deployment ID, which identifies your Blackboard site; keep it in case the Praxis AI team asks for it.Tool Status starts as Excluded. Select Approved.

4

Enter your organisation's custom parameters

Below Tool Status, the Tool Provider Custom Parameters box arrives filled with the registration’s example values. They are placeholders and don’t sign in to the LXP. Replace the credential and role lines with the values Praxis AI gave you for your organisation and product, one name=value per line:
Leave the other lines as they are unless Praxis AI tells you otherwise.Choose what instructors can pick (optional). Two more custom parameters set what the LXP’s resource picker offers when an instructor adds LXP content to a course:A cohort is set up by the Praxis AI team for your organisation and groups all of a class’s learners, with the class’s start and end dates. Ask Praxis AI for your cohort ID.
These values tell the LXP which organisation and role a launch belongs to, and one of them is a password. Treat them like a credential: don’t paste them into a shared document or a ticket.
5

Set the institution policies

Further down the same page, under Institution Policies:Select Submit. The LXP now appears in LTI Tool Providers as an approved LTI 1.3 tool.

Check the LXP's placements

The LXP comes with its placements already set up, so there’s nothing to create. To check them, open the LXP’s menu in LTI Tool Providers and choose Manage Placements. You’ll see two placements, both pointing at https://lti.praxislxp.com:
  • Deep Linking content tool: opens the LXP’s resource picker so the instructor can choose a course or cohort. This is the one to use.
  • Course content tool: adds a plain LXP link that doesn’t say which course or cohort to open, so it doesn’t launch LXP content.

To keep instructors from adding the plain link by mistake, edit the Course content tool placement and set Availability to No.

Add LXP Content to a Course

1

Open Content Market

In an Ultra course, open Course Content, select the + to add content, and choose Content Market.

2

Pick LXP content

The LXP is listed twice under Institution Tools, as Praxislxp LTI learning. Select the card without a +: it opens the LXP’s resource picker. Choose the LXP course or cohort to add. (The card with a + adds the plain link described above.)

3

Show it to students

The new item is added to Course Content. If it shows Hidden from students, make it visible when you’re ready.
Each item you add through the picker gets its own Gradebook column. When a learner finishes the LXP activity, the LXP sends the score to that column. Detailed learner reporting stays in the LXP, under LXP Composer → Analytics.

What Learners See

The LXP item appears in the course content with the title and description of the cohort or course you picked.

When a learner selects it, the LXP opens inside Blackboard and signs them in. There’s no separate LXP sign-in: the first launch creates the learner’s LXP account from the name and email Blackboard sends. The learner lands on the cohort’s Learning page, with their progress on each skill and a Start Skill button for each one.

As learners complete activities, their scores go to the item’s column in the Blackboard Gradebook.
