Remember History Settings

Amongst your personal settings, the Remember History setting controls how much conversation context your digital twin retains between interactions, directly impacting the quality and continuity of your conversations. Navigate to: Sidebar Menu → Settings → Remember History (located at the bottom-left of the interface) History Main Ui Location Web

Feature Summary

Context Window

Your digital twin can see the messages only up to the number of history settings permitted (both your messages and responses)

Continuity

Maintains context about the ongoing conversation

Reference Capability

Can refer back to decisions, preferences, and information from recent conversations

Adaptive Responses

Provides more personalized and contextually relevant answers
Higher values (5-10): Better context for complex, multi-step conversations but higher token costs Lower values (1-3): More cost-effective for simple, independent queries but limited context
Use CaseRecommended SettingReason
Quick Tasks1-3 dialoguesFaster responses for simple queries
General Chat2-5 dialoguesBalanced performance and context
Learning & Education3-7 dialoguesTracks learning progress and concepts
Technical Documentation3-8 dialoguesPreserves technical details and decisions
Programming3-10 dialoguesMaintains build upon previous response
Complex Projects5-12 dialoguesMaintains detailed project context
Creative Writing6-15 dialoguesMaintains story/character continuity
Research7-15 dialoguesMaintains research continuity, build upon previous response
Setting the value of the Remember History setting to 0 makes the AI unaware of previous conversations and can be useful to query its knowlege outside of what it can deduct from previous interactions, like a start fresh response.

When to Adjust Your Settings

Consider increasing your history setting if you frequently find yourself repeating information or if your digital twin seems to “forget” important project details.
Increase the number when:
  • Working on complex, multi-session projects
  • Need your digital twin to remember detailed preferences
  • Having extended technical or creative discussions
  • Collaborating on documentation or research
  • Credit usage is not an issues
Decrease the number when:
  • You want faster response times
  • Prefer each conversation to be more independent
  • Working primarily on simple, standalone tasks
  • Experiencing performance issues
  • Prefer minimizing costs when responding

How to Configure

1

Access Settings

Click on the Sidebar Menu located on the left side of your interface
2

Navigate to Settings

Scroll down and select Settings from the menu options
3

Find Remember History

Look for Remember History at the bottom-left of the settings panel
4

Adjust the Value

Set your preferred number of dialogues (recommended: 3-5 for most users)
5

Save Changes

Your changes are typically saved automatically, but confirm any save prompts if they appear

Best Practices

Start with the default setting (usually 3-5 dialogues) and adjust based on your specific needs and usage patterns.
  • Monitor Performance: If responses become slow, consider reducing the history setting
  • Project-Based Adjustment: Increase settings for long-term projects, decrease for quick tasks
  • Regular Review: Periodically assess if your current setting meets your needs
  • Context Awareness: Higher settings work better for users who have extended, topic-focused conversations

Troubleshooting

Digital twin seems to forget recent conversations:
  • Increase your Remember History setting
Responses are slower than expected:
  • Try reducing your Remember History setting
Getting irrelevant context in responses:
  • Consider starting a new conversation thread for unrelated topics
