Understanding Assistants

Assistants are specialized AI tools that focus on specific tasks or domains. They extend your digital twin’s capabilities by providing targeted expertise for particular workflows.
Digital Twin vs Assistants:
  • Digital Twin = WHO you are (your complete professional identity)
  • Assistants = WHAT you can do (specialized skills and tasks)
An assistant adds to your twin, it never replaces it. When you start a conversation with an assistant, the twin’s own instructions, personality, knowledge files and integrations all stay in force; the assistant layers its instructions on top for that conversation. Switch the assistant off or pick another one and the twin is exactly as it was.

Accessing the Assistant Library

Open the Assistants window in any of these ways:
  • In the message box, open [+] → Assistants → Manage Assistants….
  • Click the + next to Conversations in the sidebar (it opens the window to pick the assistant for a new conversation).
  • On the start screen of a new conversation, select Assistants.

Browsing Available Assistants

Your digital twin comes with pre-built assistants. You can enable, disable, or create your own. Assistants Gallery The gallery is organised by scope, one tab each: Personal (yours), your Digital Twin (shared with everyone on it, labelled with the twin’s name), your account (shared across every twin in the organization, labelled with the account’s name) and System (built-in, platform-managed). It opens on the tab that has assistants for you: inside a Digital Twin, the twin’s tab first, then Personal, then System; in your personal space, Personal, else System. The tab you pick is remembered for each Digital Twin, and used next time while it still has assistants. Each card also carries a small label saying who it belongs to, using the same names. A few things you can do from the gallery:
  • Favorite an assistant with the ⭐ star — favorites sort to the top of every tab and become one-click shortcuts under [+] → New Conversation. Tick ★ Favorites in the toolbar to show only those on the current tab.
  • Switch views between grid, list, and table layouts; your choice and filters are remembered.
  • Manage (⋮ menu on assistants you can manage): Edit Assistant, Copy Assistant ID, or Delete Assistant.
  • Move to a wider scope (administrators): drag a card onto the twin tab or the account tab, or open its ⋮ menu and choose Move to <twin> / Move to <account>. The assistant is shared at that level right away and leaves the tab it came from; a short confirmation names the destination. A twin-shared assistant can move up to the account and back down to the twin. Your own assistants can also be dragged back onto the Personal tab (or ⋮ → Move to Personal), which stops sharing them; an assistant someone else owns cannot be taken back to Personal.

Starting a Conversation

Creating Your First Assistant

You can create custom assistants tailored to your specific needs. Here’s a quick walkthrough:

Open Assistants

Open [+] → Assistants → Manage Assistants… in the message box

Add New

Click Add to create a new assistant in the tab you are on. On your Digital Twin’s tab (or the account’s), its administrators create an assistant for everyone there; anyone else’s new assistant is saved to Personal, and a note says so. From System, a new assistant is yours, in Personal. New Assistant… from the [+] menu starts in Personal.

Configure

Set the name, description, and optionally an icon. Configure advanced options like history settings and model override.

Write Instructions

Add your assistant’s prompt—the instructions that define how it behaves. You can insert reusable values with variables (${variable_name}) and pin the Variables sidebar while editing.

Save & Use

Click Create, then start a conversation with your new assistant

Administrator Options

Administrators have additional controls for managing assistants across the organization.
  • Share with Instance: Make an assistant available to everyone in the Digital Twin
  • Share across Account: Extend a shared assistant to every Digital Twin under the same account (shown when the Digital Twin belongs to an account)
  • Admin Only: Hide a shared assistant from non-admin users
  • Editable by others: Let other administrators modify the assistant
  • Curate the gallery: Flip the Enabled switch on any card (or ⋮ → Disable in / Enable in) to control which assistants are available in the Digital Twin; Show disabled reveals the ones switched off
  • RAG collection scope (limit its reading list): choose which folders of files this assistant is allowed to search
  • Tool configuration: Control which AI tools each assistant can use
Only a Digital Twin’s administrators — and people its administrators allowed to edit its assistants — can share an assistant with everyone there or across the account. When Disable Create Assistants for Users is on, only they can add assistants to that Digital Twin. Admin Configuration
