Pria can do more than talk. It can search the web, read and edit your files, make images, transcribe a video, check a web page it just built, or look something up in a service you connected. Each of those abilities is a tool. You choose which ones it may use. Fewer tools make every answer lighter and faster, because Pria has to consider a shorter list before it replies — whether or not it ends up using any of them. Turning off what you never use is one of the simplest ways to make a Digital Twin quicker and cheaper to run.
You don’t have to set this up. New accounts start on the recommended set, which covers the everyday things most people ask for.

Where to find it

Open the [+] (Actions) menu to the left of the message box and choose Tools (in the Studio UI: Settings › Tools). The entry tells you where you stand at a glance — for example Minimal - 6 on — so you can see the size of your set without opening anything.
In a Digital Twin, tools are chosen for everyone. If you use a Digital Twin, its administrator picks the set and every member gets the same one. Administrators see the entry as For everyone in this Digital Twin - 12 on, and it opens the same screen as Instance Settings → Tools. Members who can’t edit the twin don’t see the entry at all.

The five sets

Each set contains everything in the set before it, so moving up only ever adds. The number beside each name is how many tools it switches on.

None

No tools at all. Pria only converses with you. Choose this when you want a pure back-and-forth with nothing else happening.

Minimal — recommended

Ask questions about your files and the web, and save what you make to a file. This is the everyday set, and the one new accounts start with.

Media

Everything in Minimal, plus creating and reading images, video and audio, and transcription.

Builder

Everything in Media, plus editing files, working with PDFs, checking web pages, memory and assistants.

All

Every tool your account can use. Worth trying if you’re exploring, but it makes each message heavier.
Pick a set and it applies immediately — there’s no separate Save.
Start on Minimal and add a set only when you find yourself needing it. If you switch individual tools on or off afterwards, your choice is shown as Custom; picking a named set again starts you from a known list.

Switching single tools

Below the sets is the full list of tools available to you. You can:
  • Search by name or by what a tool does.
  • Filter by category — for example Knowledge, Research, Documents, Creative, Memory, Assistants, Connections, Learning or Communication. Only categories that have tools for you are shown.
  • Switch any single tool on or off.
Your selection sticks until you change it, and new tools Pria adds later stay off until you switch them on.
Every tool you leave on adds to the size of every message, used or not. Keep the ones you actually use.

Tools Guidance

Under the list, in the Guidance section, the Tools Guidance switch decides how much Pria is told about how and when to use its tools. This switch is for your personal Pria. In a Digital Twin, its administrator decides.

Tools for services you connected

Tools that reach Google or Microsoft behave like any other switch. The first time one is used, you’re asked to connect your account — nothing is shared before you agree. A tool your account can’t use at all is shown locked, with the reason in words. If you administer a Digital Twin, choosing a set never switches off a connection you deliberately set up: Canvas while its credentials are in place, and Google or Microsoft while they’re enabled for members, stay on.

What this doesn’t change

  • It doesn’t change what Pria knows. Your files, memory and conversation history are controlled separately — see Knowledge Modes.
  • It doesn’t limit spoken conversations to the same list. A spoken turn only offers tools that work out loud, whatever your set.
  • It doesn’t affect other people, unless you’re an administrator setting the tools for a Digital Twin — in which case it affects everyone in it.
