One thing, three names. In these docs we call your assistant a Digital Twin. You will also see it called an Instance — on the Instance Settings panel, in the admin Instances list, and in your web address (
your-instance.praxislxp.com) — and an Institution, which is what our software calls it behind the scenes (in API fields such as institution). All three mean exactly the same thing: one assistant, with its own knowledge, voice, members and settings. Which name you see depends on the screen you are on, not on what the thing is. An Account is different — it is the organisation that owns one or more Digital Twins. The basics

What Pria is
Pria is an assistant you talk to, in writing or out loud. You ask it something in your own words, and it answers: it explains, writes, summarises, makes quizzes, reads your documents, and can take small actions for you, like searching the web or creating an image.AI in one minute
AI can be wrong. Pria shows where an answer came from when it used your files (citations), so check anything important.
The five building blocks
Everything in Pria is built from five ideas. Once you know them, the rest of the docs make sense.Digital Twin: the personality
Who you’re talking to. A Digital Twin has a name, a face, a tone and an area of expertise — a “Professor Ada” for your course, a support agent for your company. Each twin has its own knowledge, members and settings.
Assistants: the skills
How it does a specific job. An Assistant is a ready-made helper for one task — a quiz maker, an essay coach, a meeting summariser. Pick one, and the twin follows its recipe.
Files and IP Vault: the knowledge
What it knows beyond general knowledge. Upload your documents to the IP Vault and Pria reads them to answer, quoting its sources. Your files stay private to you or your twin.
Tools: the abilities
What it can do besides writing. Tools let Pria search the web, create images, read a PDF, check your calendar or work in your course. You choose how many to switch on.
Memory: what it remembers
What it keeps between conversations — your preferences, facts you asked it to remember, and the thread of your current chat — so you don’t repeat yourself.
Your personal Pria and Digital Twins
Everyone starts with a personal Pria. Digital Twins come next, when a group of people needs an assistant built for them.
You move between your personal Pria and the twins you belong to in the Digital Expert Gallery.
Why have more than one twin?
One assistant that tries to know everything ends up knowing nothing well. A twin built for one audience and one job gives sharper answers, shows each person only the knowledge that’s meant for them, and keeps each group’s credits and settings separate. One twin per department
A company runs a twin for each team, each loaded with that team’s own knowledge:
- HR answers questions on benefits, leave and policies — at 2 a.m. as well as 2 p.m.
- Sales knows the products, pricing and the usual objections, and role-plays a tough customer before the real call.
- Engineering draws on design documents, runbooks and coding standards, so new hires get answers without interrupting a senior engineer.
One twin per teacher
Each teacher has a twin built from their own syllabus, notes and way of explaining things. Students get help with homework at 11 p.m., when the teacher is asleep, in the voice and style of the teacher they know. The teacher stays in charge: they decide what the twin knows and how it answers.
One twin per course or program
A university gives each course its own twin, opened from inside Canvas or Blackboard, so it always knows which course the student is in.
One twin for the public
A school or business puts a twin on its website to welcome visitors, answer common questions and point them to the right person.
Why Praxis AI is “Human First”
A Digital Twin doesn’t replace the person behind it; it extends them. The teacher’s knowledge reaches every student, at any hour. The HR team’s answers reach every employee, without a queue. The expert is no longer the bottleneck, and the people in charge still decide what the twin knows, how it speaks and who it serves. That’s what we mean by amplifying human potential: the technology does the repeating, so people can do the teaching, the deciding and the caring. Read more on the Welcome page.Getting a Digital Twin
- On your own: once your personal Pria has answered 5 of your questions, you can create a Digital Twin of your own, up to 3 per account. See Create a Digital Twin.
- In a school or company: your admins create the twins and invite you, or you join one from inside your course. See the Admin Guide.
What you can do as a learner
New here? The Getting Started guide walks you through your first conversation.
Making your credits go further
Credits are spent on how much Pria reads and writes. A few habits keep them lasting longer:- Use the right Assistant. A focused Assistant does the job in fewer, shorter answers than a general chat.
- Switch on only the tools you need. Start with the Minimal tool set; every extra tool makes each message heavier.
- Start a new conversation for a new topic. A long conversation is re-read on every message, so it costs more each time.
- Upload files instead of pasting long text. Pria then reads only the parts it needs.
- Type when you’d re-read the answer. Talking out loud costs more than typing, and an avatar keeps people talking longer.
For admins: shaping your Digital Twin
As an admin, you set up the Digital Twin everyone else uses. In short:
Customizing pays off twice: a twin with clear instructions, the right model and only the tools it needs gives better answers and spends fewer credits.
See the Admin Guide for everything else.
For admins: talking out loud with Convo Mode
Convo Mode lets people talk with the Digital Twin, like a phone call, instead of typing. Turn it on when:- Speaking helps learning — language practice, interview or role-play training, oral exams.
- Typing is a barrier — accessibility, younger learners, people on the move.
- Presence matters — onboarding, demos, or a welcoming face on your website.

Where Pria can live: integrations
Pria isn’t only a website you visit. It goes to where people already work and learn — the same Digital Twin, with the same knowledge, in many places at once. Your admins and developers decide where. In your learning platform
Students and teachers open Pria inside their course, already signed in, and Pria knows which course they’re in.Canvas
Two ways in: a floating Pria button on every course page across your whole Canvas, or a Pria item that teachers place in a module, course by course. With permission, Pria can also read the course’s assignments, pages and syllabus to give answers about this course.
Blackboard Learn
Your Blackboard admin adds Pria with one Client ID; teachers add it to a course from Content Market. Students open it inside the course — and you can ask them to confirm their Blackboard sign-in first.
On your website or app
In the tools you already use
- Meetings — send your twin into a Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Webex call as a participant that listens, answers when asked, and posts a short recap when the call ends. See Meeting Agent.
- Email, files and calendars — connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, and Pria can read a document from your drive, check your calendar or draft an email. See Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
- Almost anything else — connectors are like a universal plug: link Slack, a CRM like Salesforce, a database or an automation hub, and their actions become new tools for your twin. See Connectors.
Inside other AI assistants, like Claude or ChatGPT
Already using another AI assistant? MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a common standard that lets AI apps borrow each other’s skills — think of it as a universal plug between AI tools. It works in both directions:Your twin's knowledge inside Claude or ChatGPT
Connect your Digital Twin to an assistant such as Claude (for example Claude Desktop) or ChatGPT, or to a coding tool like Cursor. When you ask there about your course, policies or products, it can search your twin’s documents and answer from them. You need the address of your twin’s MCP server and its secret, from your admin; the app must let you add an MCP server.
Other tools inside your twin
The other way round: plug MCP servers such as Slack, Zapier or your own company systems into your twin, and their actions become tools Pria can use during a conversation.
For programmers
In automated workflows
Pria can work without anyone typing. With an API key, a scheduled job or an automation platform such as n8n, Make or Zapier can call your Digital Twin on its own. For example:- Every Monday, ask the HR twin to summarise the week’s most common questions and email the team.
- When a form is submitted on your website, have the support twin draft a reply for a person to check.
- When a new document lands in a shared folder, have the twin add it to its knowledge and post a summary.
